PALILULA MUNICIPALITY ALSO HELPED NIS MATERNITY CLINIC

Nis Maternity Department got four new incubators and one lamp for phototherapy, as part of a national campaign of the Fund B92 - Battle for the babies. Donors are Jura Corporation, Art of Giving association, Palilula Municipality and KBC Bank. This is a new step in the campaign, called Battle of the maternity ward, which, aside from the incubator, continues to purchase of all equipment for all maternity hospitals in Serbia.In the past year, health care facilities in Nis has been donated eight incubators and with new donation, thanks to B92 action "Battle for babies", and this number has increased to twelve. In the same time in all maternity hospitals in Serbia, through grants, 203 incubators were provided.

According to the Doctor Vladan Antic from Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinic in Nis, the need for newer equipment that will primarily provide the essence of Nis Maternity department and that is safe work. Safe operations is the essence of a successful and safe birth and a lower degree of prenatal pathology which later requires more investments, so that Nis Maternity Clinic need urgently renovation of equipment since it is very old and everyone can doubt its correct operations.

"We want that each of the maternity clinics, and there are 52 in Serbia, get all the equipment necessary for them – said Veran Matic, president of B92 Fund " Maternity clinic in Nis needs new reanimation tables, delivery beds, respirators, and the necessary participation of the whole community and all who can help starting from elementary schools, kindergartens, through cultural institutions, sports clubs, local authorities, companies. All they need to come together around their maternity department, where their children were born or where they had been born, or their grandchildren will be born one day, so that associated like that with little donations, they could solve the basic problems of that Maternity Clinic -Matic concluded.

During the mid this year, on the occasion of May 9 - Victory Day - Palilula Municipality and Nis-project "Art of Giving"-company "Philip Morris" were awarded the medal " BATTLE FOR BABIES HEROES " for their contributions to the successful raising funds for the purchase of incubators for maternity hospitals in Serbia, also for courage and humanity shown in the" Battle for babies ", which has been successfully implemented at the end of last year and continued in 2012.
